Cultivate Joy.

Forage Hope.

Embody Love.

Live the Questions.

These are words I have chosen to live by in 2024. I am here to help you, too, bring your best self to this one wild and precious life. We only get one shot at this, and only you can invest the time and effort in this journey. I’m here to help guide that exploration.

But why these words, Kimberly? To me, these words are about agency. Creating the joy you want in life. Looking for the hope we all need. Living a open-hearted life of love, for yourself and others, and allowing others to love you. And living the questions? This is a concept from Ranier Maria Rilke in Letters to A Young Poet. To quote Rilke,

“Have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.”

You do not have to be good.

You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.

You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.

Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.

Meanwhile the world goes on.

Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain are moving across the landscapes, over the prairies and the deep trees, the mountains and the rivers.

Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air, are heading home again.

Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting - over and over announcing your place in the family of things.
